Run for Palestine 2018

Bravo Perth

The Perth Swan River foreshore put on a pleasant 22° C with cloud cover for the 2018 Run for Palestine event. Among spectacular views 160 people gathered to participate in this year’s fun run. The course was 9km (x3 laps of a 3Km circuit) for the runners and 4.5Km (x1.5 laps of a 3Km circuit) for the walkers. The excitement was high and people of all ages ran, walked, pushed prams or watched.

We had good food “Manakeesh” and provided awards to the men and women who came first second and third place.

The three men:

  • Maatthew Gerald Ker 36 minutes
  • Nat Grimbly 37 minutes
  • Geoff Brice 38 minutes

The three women:

  • Nadia Bedford 39 minutes
  • Asmira Supuk 41 minutes
  • Shingow Rhzengwe 46 minutes

A cameleer was present with many camels, following the Run for Palestine participants enjoyed a leisurely camel ride.

After expenses the Perth RfP raised $4,187.18. We intend to distribute this money between the Tamer Institute for Community Education and Olive Kids. This money will to supporting disadvantaged children the Palestinian territories.

Well done to all those who participated we look forward to your participating in the:

“At first he was a Palestinian child, but his consciousness developed to have a national then a global and human horizon. He is a simple yet tough child, and this is why people adopted him and felt that he represents their consciousness.”
